The Black & Co + Tuesday story

Inspired by the desire to breathe some life back into the south end of Timaru NZ's CBD, we mulled over some of our favourite ideas for the beautiful old buildings we occupied, before settling on a quirky gift store with plenty of humour as our first project. Tuesday was born in late 2016 as an afterwork project with the store opening from 5-8pm which enabled us to open when we got home from our day jobs. As word spread, it was only a matter of weeks before the business became bigger than anticipated and we were looking for team members to extend our hours. A year later we extended the store into the neighbouring shop and created a space exclusively for our children's offering which is affectionately known as Jack Rascals - a nod to our Jack Russells which are frequent visitors to the stores. It wasn't long before we were planning our next idea which would culminate in the opening of Black & Co and Heirlooms next to Tuesday in 2018. With a focus on quality fashion pieces, luxe homewares and unique jewellery - Black & Co offers shoppers a unique experience. With an ever-expanding collection of the weird and wonderful, collectible and coveted - Heirlooms is the perfect place to spend time browsing for treasures you won't find in other stores. Since we first opened the doors, our lovely customers have been asking for an online store so they (and their family and friends near and far) can shop from wherever they may be. We are delighted to now be able to offer our hand picked selection of clothing, gifts, cards and homewares online. We hope you enjoy browsing the site and it brings as many laughs to you as those who visit us in store. Thanks for visiting us and supporting a little store that employs great people in a lovely seaside town. Tuesday Location Map

We'd also like to introduce our other creation...

HECTOR BLACK'S LOUNGE BAR - 129 Stafford St, Timaru NZ

They say good things take time, and Hector Black's was a long time in the making. Opening a bar had long been a dream of Tim's and when the opportunity to occupy the heritage listed building arose there was no turning back. The handpicked decor lovingly collected over a lifetime, Hector Black's offers patrons a relaxing, interesting place to socialise in the heart of Timaru. The beautiful old building, which housed the National Bank of New Zealand from 1870s, lends itself perfectly to housing the collection of items which pay homage to the primary industries, South Canterbury's strong equestrian heritage and to the most important resident of the house - Hector Black himself.  Hector Black Location Map
